VetFran Program

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: We strive to become the leader in franchising with transitioning military personnel and current veterans in order to help them achieve their dreams and goals by being in business for themselves.
The Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran Program) was established by Don Dwyer, Sr.—founder of Neighborly, formerly Dwyer Group—soon after the Gulf War ended in 1991. The VetFran program is a voluntary effort of International Franchise Association (IFA) member companies to encourage franchise ownership by offering financial incentives to honorably discharged veterans.
Since its inception, the VetFran programs have had the following effects:
  • Neighborly franchise companies have awarded more than $3 million in discounts to more than 400 veteran franchise owners.

  • More than 500 franchisors currently participate in the VetFran program.

  • More than 6,500 veterans have acquired a franchise business through the VetFran program.
